My last post on online jobs that pay up to $15 received a lot of attention from readers. Some suggested I write another post listing jobs that pay more.

Although this is a small list, it does include companies that offer work-at-home positions with a pay rate that is higher than those I listed.

Many jobs online and offline pay $20 an hour. These jobs include virtual assistants, proofreading, chat agents, sales, editing and customer service.
Below are over 30 jobs I have listed.
Here’s a list of online jobs paying $20 an hour
TranscribeMe offers transcription jobs at $20 an hour. To be considered for the position, you will need to pass a brief transcription test. There is often a wait time before you are invited to take the test. This review will provide more information about TranscribeMe.

Requirements: To apply, you must be at least 18 years old, possess a smartphone and hold a valid driver’s license.
VIPKid allows you to apply for online tutoring if you speak English fluently and have any teaching experience. Your main focus is to teach conversational English for Chinese children. It has vacancies in the USA and Canada.

Average Hourly Pay: Between $14 and $22
Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required with at least two years experience in teaching, tutoring or coaching. Access to the latest operating system, a high-speed internet connection and a laptop are essential technical requirements.
GitHub frequently recruits remote workers for positions such as developers, technical support and marketing. Many countries. Recently, I’ve seen openings in this company.
Average annual salary: 60k
Requirements: While each job has its own requirements, it is preferable to have a degree or experience that is related.
HAWO, another tutoring company, hires ESL teachers in Canada and the US. It is looking for tutors who have a BA or are currently enrolled at a university. This role requires teaching experience. Other teaching certificates are preferred. For a 45-minute class, the base salary is $18 an hour. Bonuses and incentives are also available.

Scribe Media has freelance opportunities for editors, proofreaders and book developers. Although the opportunities aren’t often available, you can always check the website later if there are any openings.

Requirements for a position as an editor: A minimum of one year experience in book editing, ghostwriting, and excellent English skills.
ETS is an ETS scoring company that pays you to score various tests. This is a job that involves evaluating essays and spoken responses. Up to $20 an hour can be earned
Average pay: $20 an hour
Requirements: Different roles require different requirements.
Aviacode, a medical coding firm, hires medical coders to work in hospitals and doctors. Flexible work options are available, including full-time, part-time and hybrid positions, as well as full remote positions.
Average Hourly Pay: $23-$26
Requirements: To apply for a position, you will need to hold an RHIT or RHIA degree. Most companies require certification of AHIMA and AAPC. Aviacode requires that you have at least three years experience in order to apply.

Buffer is a social management tool that allows websites and businesses to automate their social media channels. It offers technical support and customer service roles.
Average pay: $15-20 per hour
Requirements: These requirements may differ depending on the role you are applying for.
Scribendi allows you to work as a freelance editor/proofreader from your home. You must have at least three years experience in teaching, editing, or writing to be considered for employment.
Based on your experience, the average hourly pay is between $18 and $27.
Humana offers work-at-home customer support specialists for healthcare, assisting both internal and external clients. There are occasionally bilingual customer service positions.
Average Hourly Pay: $18
This job requires at least two years’ experience in customer service.
Working Solutions provides customer service in technical assistance, customer service and backend support. Before you can be accepted as an agent, you will need to pass an assessment test. It is remote work that is flexible.
Average pay: $25 an hour
Requirements for this job: Customer service experience with the ability to communicate via email, chat, or telephone. This job requires tech-savvy and excellent attention to detail.
Rev is a platform that offers free transcription and translation. I’ve written about Rev before in relation to captioning. You must pass a very difficult transcription test to be eligible for transcription positions. So prepare well if this is something you want.
Average pay: $24 an hour
InstaEDU is an online tutoring service that hires tutors to teach subjects such as biology, maths and engineering. You can work remotely and have flexible schedules.
Average Hourly Pay: $20
NexRep is a company that offers sales and customer service positions. This role includes handling both inbound and outbound phone calls. Remote customer service positions are also available.
Average Hourly Pay: $25
Experience in sales or customer service is a plus.
TeleReach offers work-at-home appointment setting positions. This role requires you to work at least 20 hours per week. Only US citizens are eligible for this position.
Average pay: $25 an hour
This role requires prior experience in lead generation and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills are also required.
Belay is a top company to look into if you’re interested in virtual assistant positions. Belay also hires remote web designers and bookkeepers. You can work as little as you like or as many hours as you wish.

Proofreading is the process of sifting through documents to correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. If you have the right experience, this is an online job that pays $20 an hour.
